About Oyebidu

Oyebidu is an independent publication that writes practical, plain-language guides about the software, apps, and gadgets people use every day. We started this site because most tech advice online falls into two camps: dense documentation written for engineers, or thin listicles written mainly to rank in search results. We wanted something in between — content that's genuinely useful, written by people who actually use the tools they're writing about.

What we cover

Our focus areas are deliberately narrow so we can go deep instead of wide:

• Software & apps — screenshot tools, password managers, note-taking apps, and other everyday utilities.
• Developer tools — editors, extensions, version control, and workflow tips for people who write code.
• Hardware & troubleshooting — practical fixes for slow computers, storage issues, and aging devices.
• Privacy & security — settings and habits that meaningfully reduce risk without requiring a computer science degree.
• Cloud & productivity — comparisons and workflows for remote and hybrid teams.

How we write

Every article on this site is written and reviewed by a human before it's published. When we recommend a tool, it's because we've used it — not because it topped a spreadsheet of affiliate commission rates. Where we haven't personally tested something extensively, we say so. We update older articles when tools change significantly, rather than leaving outdated advice live indefinitely.

How the site is funded
